Meet Bill Terry, Broker-In-Charge

A ninth generation Carolina boy, Bill Terry has been a recognized professional in the real estate, mortgage banking, real estate banking, construction, and investment business in South Carolina for over 38 years. Having been a licensed SC Licensed Residential Home Builder since 1984, a licensed Real Estate Broker since 1985, and passing the Unlimited General Contractor’s Exam and receiving a SC General Contractor’s License in 1986, Bill has enjoyed many years of success in the Upstate and Greater Greenville market, and enjoys the respect and favor from many of his peers in the business. In addition to his real estate experience, Bill also worked in the Life and Health Insurance sectors, and Securities industry (Mutual Funds and Annuities with Series 6 and 63 Licenses), and was in the Real Estate Banking business for five years, providing financing for residential builders and developers with several of the largest banks in South Carolina and the nation. Now he is poised to provide real estate services from the Upstate to the Coast. In June of 2022, Bill decided to offer his services to the Coastal area of South Carolina in the Counties of Horry, Georgetown, and Marion, in addition to the Upstate and Greater Greenville area.

As President of the The Terry Company, Inc. since January of 1993, Bill’s unique portfolio of residential building and construction, and his years of experience in custom building and residential renovations has established him as a trusted name and brand in the real estate community with recognition and winning of accolades and awards such as the 1997 Greenville Home Builders Association Parade of Homes Freda Rayburn Excellence in Building First Place Award for the premium quality of his work and craftsmanship, and the Associate of the Year award presented annually by the Greenville HBA, for his work in membership recruitment to the organization.

Bill was affiliated as a Broker Associate with RE/MAX Realty Professionals in Greenville SC from December 2000 until June 2022. Awards with RE/MAX included the “Hustle Award” and the prestigious and coveted RE/MAX HALL OF FAME award.

Bill Terry has a track record, based on education, experience, and knowledge in providing buyer representation services for buyers of residential, commercial, investment properties as well as farms, timber land, and development properties in the upstate area of South Carolina. From first time home buyers to savvy retirees, Bill has assisted many clients in finding the right property.

He has also spent decades providing very successful listing representation for sellers desiring to market their properties, including institutional clients such as multi-state banks and private investment groups.

In the past few years, Bill sold and closed over 200 REO properties for Carolina First Bank (now TD Bank) in the upstate of South Carolina and advises many of his clients about locating and purchasing qualified investment opportunities – catered specifically to the client’s needs. Many of his buyer clients are from out of state, and rely on Bill’s all-around knowledge of the upstate real estate market.

In addition to his membership in the Greater Greenville Association of Realtors, Bill served 10 years on the Home Builders Association of Greenville’s, Board of Directors and three of those years, as Treasurer on the Executive Committee.  Bill also served two years on the Board of Directors of the Pebble Creek Country Club during 2008-2009.
